The Google Wallet

As expected, Google has launched its mobile payments service today, allowing a very few people to tap their phone to pay at the register. …

…The Google Wallet will be pushed to owners of the Sprint Nexus S 4G in an over-the-air software update, according to a Google blog post.

Is it just me or is Google oozing in to every area of life? I’m conflicted because I find Google Calendar very helpful. GMail? Great. Google search — where would I be without it?? And that’s not to mention Google Apps, Ads, Maps, Docs, Google +, Shopping, News, the Android, and on, and on!

Should there be a limit to the success of one company (even if they are doing it right)? When does the alarm go off that my life has been infiltrated by one sole company who knows more about me than my mother?

You can’t call Google a monopoly but perhaps there should be a new term for a company that’s become so pervasive. Suggestions?
