For the love of big ideas
I love big ideas. I love talking about the possibilities of science and technology. About evolution and the future. I love insights into human behavior—especially where the brain is concerned. And I know just enough about physics to think it’s mystical and sexy.
Some folks got together at a conference hosted by Institute for the Future‘s Technology Horizons Program to explore some of these big ideas. The result: the Future of Science 2021 Map (below).
I would have loved to be a part of that exploration. I’m strongly intuitive and a great brainstormer but facts and figures are not my strong suit. I could certainly help those enmeshed in science to conceptualize. I’d be great at it (just throwing that out there for any scientists who might be reading
).
So for the love of big ideas, enjoy this amazing map of the future.
It’s 6 main concepts: Decrypting the Brain, Hacking Space, Massively Multiplayer Data, Sea the Future, Strange Matter, and Engineered Evolution. It’s a beautiful compliment to Michell Zappa‘s Envisioning Technology interactive table.
